Khoodeelaar! the East London 'No to Crossrail hole Bill' campaign defends Kingston, SW London against Ken Livingstone's CRASSRail ['Crossrail'] levy.

Khoodeelaar! has just published an analytical defence of the Kingston, south West London businesses, - who are ordinary businesses and not representative of Big Business in the context of the CRASSRail hole scheme - and explained that the reason why CRASSRail is flawed is because the scam is a ploy to benefit Big Business at the expense of London's ordinary communities and [mainly] small scale businesses.

The publication follows the report, as carried by the Wimbledon Times, that business people in the Kingston area are concerned at the Crossrail levy that is imminent from Ken Livingstone..

Khoodeelaar! The East London campaign against the CRASSRail hole Bill notes the concerns at the CRASSRail levy as coming from the business leaders in the Kingston area that you have just reported.

Why are we opposing it in the East End of London?

Because the promoters have targeted some of the most densely populated parts of the East End, with more than adequate supply of public transport running through it, to unsettle and disrupt and displace under the pretext of constructing the Crossrail line linking the City of London with Canary Wharf.

For the past four years, starting in January 2004 [13 months before the actual Crossrail Bill was introduced in the House of Commons by the then Transport Secretary Alistair darling] we have been saying that the CRASSRail scam is not about the reasonably experienced transport-economic needs and priorities of the people across London.

We have shown that CRASSRail is not about addressing the transept needs of London but to enrich selected Big Business outfits at the expense of London.

We have shown that the CRASSRail scam has been confected as a device which big business is already using to pocket £billions of public money under covers of a hyper-spun propaganda image rail line.

In all their key statements made by the formal promoters of CRASSRail as well as those made by their touts, agents, lobbyists and spin-meisters, CRASSRail has been described as being the line needed by [BIG] business to connect canary Wharf, the City of London and Heathrow airport

Khoodeelaar! is campaigning now for the scrapping of the seriously flawed Crossrail scheme and we shall attempt to get the ‘select committee’ that has been just set up in the upper chamber [House of Lords] to consider the ‘Crossrail Bill’ to recommend that the Bill is scrapped and a thorough review made of the transport needs of London in the context of the existing transport infrastructure.

That Crossrail is not the right answer to the transport needs of London was recognised by the ‘Eddington Study’ – which had itself been commissioned by Gordon Brown when he was the UK finance minister. Eddington’s advice was AGAINST Crossrail, as has been belatedly reported by Channel Four News. The US business publisher Forbes too reported a year ago when Eddington published his findings that his study had not endorsed the London Crossrail.
